Walking on Tinos

2. From Porto, via Dio Horia, Falatados to Volax - "The Rock garden of the Giants"

An early morning start on a bus takes us from Hora to Porto where our walk begins. At first we follow an ascending path to the beautiful village of Dio Horia famous for its springs.
After a refreshing stop we continue over a mountain ridge towards Steni.
Dropping down the north side of Mt. Kehros we have spectacular views of Tsiknias the highest mountain of Tinos.
In Steni we walk along the narrow alleys, under the stone arches and by the inviting little cafes. A glass of Raki can lift our spirits. Only 20 min away is Falatados one of the major villages on Tinos. From here we start our descent through beautiful countryside into the land of the granite stone formations towards the village of Volax.
In Volax, which is famous for its basket weavers, we are going to have a late lunch in one of the traditional little taverns. A late afternoon transfer back into town follows.
